Reflections and Pathways Forward on MMIWR, Domestic Violence, and Native Maternal Health
Following the National Roundtable on Integrated Approaches to Domestic Violence, Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Relatives (MMIWR) and Maternal Mortality in Indian Country, the National Indigenous Women’s Resource Center hosted a webinar highlighting reflections from roundtable attendees. During this webinar, roundtable participants shared their experiences from the convening held in partnership with the National Health Resource Center on Domestic Violence, a project of Futures Without Violence and other multidisciplinary partners. The conversation delved into how maternal health, MMIWR, and domestic violence intersect in Tribal communities and identified strategies to fortify health, safety, and justice for Native women and families at the Tribal, local, and national levels.
