Virtual Event
Coffee and Conversations with Minnesota Indian Women’s Sexual Assault Coalition (MIWSAC)
Let’s visit! Registration is now open for our Virtual Coffee and Conversation! Join us to learn how we’re working to strengthen programs and build relationships grounded in shared values and community connections.
The Minnesota Indian Woman’s Sexual Assault Coalition (MIWSAC) serves as the National Tribal Sexual Assault Resource Center under the Family Violence Prevention and Services Act. MIWSAC is a statewide Tribal coalition and national Tribal TA provider that is rooted in survivor voices, community strengths and needs, and traditional values. MIWSAC will join us at this time to discuss their culturally-based training, resources, TA, and national policy advocacy. OFVPS staff will also be in attendance for any questions related to FVPSA funding. They will also confirm how FVPSA grant funds can be used to support culturally based programs and activities.
Who should sign up? Tribal Nations and Tribal organizations that are recipients of Family Violence Prevention and Services (FVPSA) grants. Advocates, Directors, Managers, Staff, and Financial management are all welcome. The ongoing purpose of these calls continues to be:
- Increasing resources for Tribal Nations and Tribal organizations to meet the needs of American Indians and Alaska Natives (AI/AN) surviving domestic violence, dating violence, and family violence.
- Increasing resources for Tribal Nations and Tribal organizations to expand the workforce of advocates and partners to meet the needs of AI/AN survivors.
- Increasing public awareness about primary and secondary prevention of family violence, domestic violence, and dating violence.
