Shailla Winter is an inspirational survivor of human trafficking who has dedicated her life since 2017 to advocating for indigenous rights, healing trauma and promoting women's empowerment. Her powerful talks are unrivaled and provide a first-hand perspective on the topic of human trafficking, making her an invaluable asset in promoting awareness. Shailla is also a singer, songwriter, and a model. In 2019, Shailla was delegated the task of handing the book of recommendations to Justin Trudeau after working on the inquiry into MMIWG. She has also spent the past 9 years working in the Non-Profit sector where has created many programs/projects, nurtured million dollar partnerships, and written many successful proposals at indigenous organization in Toronto catered to Indigenous youth focusing on mental health, community wellness, and combatting addiction and working towards harm reduction strategies.
