About the Nothing Without Us Collective
The Nothing Without Us Consulting Collective (NWUCC) is a cross-disability survivor-led collective of public health professionals, community organizers, educators, and researchers practicing comprehensive systems-level violence prevention strategies. As a queer, Indigenous woman-owned enterprise, the NWUCC provides evaluation support, primary prevention training, and technical assistance to local, state, and national non-profit organizations, governmental agencies, and universities. Grounded in the principles of disability justice, the Nothing Without Us Consulting Collective works to advance accessibility and leadership of people with disabilities in the anti-violence and public health fields. NWUCC was founded on the principle that people with disabilities are central to anti-violence work. Too often, disabled professionals are overlooked, underpaid, and often shut out of the leadership roles where prevention strategies are shaped and decisions are made. We are intentional about uplifting the voices, representation, and leadership of people with disabilities as primary prevention practitioners and about building the next generation of anti-violence professionals who bring lived experience, cross-disability perspective, and a disability justice framework to this work. Our cross-movement work strengthens systems and centers the expertise of the people most impacted by violence, working toward safety, connectedness, and liberation for everyone.
