NIWRC Postpones Women Are Sacred Conference Due to COVID-19

Conference will be rescheduled, new date to be shared at later time

In an effort to safeguard the health of our relatives throughout Indian Country and help slow the transmission of the coronavirus (COVID-19), the National Indigenous Women’s Resource Center has decided to postpone the 2020 Women Are Sacred Conference (June 23-25, 2020) in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The Conference will be rescheduled for a later date, which will be announced as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Our primary concern remains the health and wellbeing of our community members and those we serve, particularly our elders and those with underlying health conditions. With this in mind, we have made the difficult but necessary decision to postpone based on considerations shared from our presenters, staff, and leadership, as well as guidance from national health recommendations and federal agencies.

All registered attendees will receive a registration refund (please allow 1-2 weeks to process). If you are registered for Women Are Sacred, you will receive additional details on this process in a separate email.

Our staff is eager to host the next Women Are Sacred Conference, and we will share the new dates and registration information as soon as it is available. Should you have any questions or concerns related to the Women Are Sacred Conference, please reach out to us through our Contact Us page or via email at [email protected].

This is a difficult time for all of us, and we thank you for your patience and support as we make these decisions carefully, one step at a time. Please stay healthy and take good care of yourself and your families. We will come out of this crisis stronger and more resilient than before.
