The National Indigenous Women’s Resource Center (NIWRC) is dedicated to ending violence against Native women and children by providing culturally specific technical assistance, training, and policy development for tribes and grassroots advocates to help establish and strengthen their responses to violence. Our work is centered on restoring the safety and status of American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian women, addressing the rights and related needs of children and Two-Spirit/LGBTQ and male victims and survivors, and ensuring offender and abuser accountability by upholding tribal sovereignty.
NIWRC staff take a culturally grounded and highly specialized advocacy approach to the areas of domestic violence, sexual violence, missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls, stalking, and sex trafficking, among other forms of gender-based violence and intersecting issues. - Director of Communications — Full Time (Remote) - Salary is $75,000 - $82,000 DOE.
The Director of Communications and Advancement will take the lead for NIWRC’s communication and public awareness initiatives, fundraising and advancement, as well as manage NIWRC’s strategic communications activities. The Director will also have a wide array of responsibilities, including gaining visibility for priority Campaigns, helping NIWRC staff develop their media skills and strategies, utilizing NIWRC software and social media to communicate across our network.- To apply, please complete and submit an employment application, a resume, three professional references, a cover letter, and writing/design samples.
